> Support a sbaMass Runner in the 38th Annual Falmouth Road Race! - Aug. 15, 2010
On August 15th Team sbaMass will again be participating in the Falmouth Road Race. Once again, our wonderful runners will dedicate themselves to raising funds and creating public awareness for sbaMass. Through the efforts of the 25 member team, we expect to raise over $30,000 for the sbaMass community. By running and fundraising for sbaMass our Team contributes in large part to keeping our important programs running.

On Tuesday, March 23, President Obama signed into law a set of historic health reforms. The Spina Bifida Association (SBA) remains steadfast in our dedication to the principles of healthcare reform for people with Spina Bifida. For more information, down this article (PDF).
> SBA Creates Informational Online Video Series
Recently, SBA worked with an online video production company to create two informational video series related to Spina Bifida. The first of these video series, entitled Understanding Spina Bifida, features SBF President Scott T. Price, Esq. and outlines the basics of Spina Bifida, its treatment and care options, and research being conducted.
The second video series, Living with Spina Bifida, features SBA Board Member Donna Jones and highlights her experiences living as an adult with Spina Bifida.
> Passing of a Friend
sbaMass mourns the loss of a friend and advocate. On Friday September 4, 2009 Mary Jo Dunleavy, passed away after an illness of several months. During her career of more than 30 years at the Children's Hospital in Boston, she worked at the urology and general surgery departments and most recently served as nurse coordinator of the hospital's Spina Bifida clinic. The thoughts of the Spina Bifida community of Massachusetts are with the Dunleavy families during these next difficult times. Mary Jo was a dedicated nurse and friend of sbaMass. She will be greatly missed by all her knew her.
sbaMass has placed a condolence book at the Myelo Clinic at Children’s Hospital. During your upcoming appointments, please sign and leave a message for Mary Jo’s family. In addition if you would like to send a card to Mary Jo’s family, please forward to sbaMass, 321 Fortune Blvd, Suite 5, Milford, MA 01757. The sbaMass will forward all expressions of sympathy on to her family.
